September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. According to the American Cancer Society, ovarian cancer accounts for 4 percent of all cancers among women. It is estimated that there will be 25,400 new cases and 14,300 deaths this year due to ovarian cancer. And because signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer are hard to detect, only about 10 percent of ovarian cancer is found in the early stages.
