Ovarian cancer walk
Houlihan/Parnes to hold annual walk for cancer
Houlihan/Lawrence, Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess county's largest independently owned residential real estate company, is sponsoring the 10th Annual Support Connection Walk on Sunday, October 3rd at FDR State Park, off the Taconic State Parkway on Route 202 in Yorktown Heights.
This year's walk, which raises money to support women with breast and ovarian cancer, features actress Glenn Close, Sparky Lyle, of the New York Yankees, and First Lady and Child Care Advocate of Westchester Brenda Resnick Spano as honorary chairpersons. Air personality Kacey, from WHUD Radio, will return as master of ceremonies.
Pre-walk festivities will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a stretch and warm up to Music at 9:30 a.m., then the ribbon-cutting at 10:00 a.m. for the three-mile walk.
The event will take place regardless of weather conditions. Free refreshments will be available for all participants, along with entertainment, activities and giveaways.
There is no minimum donation required, but anyone donating or raising $25 or more will receive a free "Support-A-Walk" tee shirt.
"We are proud to be a part of this wonderful event, and look forward to another successful year in raising funds to fight breast and ovarian cancer," said Savo Fries, manager of the Houlihan/Lawrence's Yorktown office, which coordinates the event for the company.
