A security officer at Moi International Airport in Mombasa, Kenya has received a merit award after he single-handedly stopped the theft of luggage by fake porters.
The airport was suffering from serious problems at the arrival and departure lounges as criminals would pose as airport workers and offer to push trolleys for the passengers, only to steal from them. Charles Rombo was awarded the Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO) award for merit after he fought to end the problem.
Rombo was presented with a certificate and a cheque for KES10,000, reported The Nation.
