- Teen Coffee House and Open Microphone Night will be 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Alpha Park Library, 3527 S. Airport Road.
Teens in seventh through 12th grades are invited to enjoy the refreshments and entertainment, or give performing poetry, music or drama a try. Original material is welcome. Teens interested in performing can call Youth Services at 697-3822, Ext. 14, to be put on the schedule.
Chillicothe
- Angels will be the topic of discussion by Sharon Bates from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Chillicothe Public Library.
She will discuss their history, jobs and more.
Peoria Heights
- Beat the Blahs Bingo, a winter reading club for adults at Peoria Heights Public Library, will officially kick off at 10 a.m. Jan. 29.
Mike Miller of Northern Lights Photography will present a mini- seminar, "Ten Camera Basics That Will Improve Your Snapshots 100%."
The club runs from Jan. 24 to Feb. 26, with participants earning coupons for reading books and recording the titles on a bingo card. Prizes will be given for weekly contests with a grand prize drawing for a gift certificate to the Woodcutter Restaurant.
A final party for the club will be 10 a.m. Feb. 26 and feature award-winning cook and online magazine editor Gina Edwards.
Peoria
- "Home Safety for Seniors" will be presented free at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hult Health Education Center, 5215 N. Knoxville Ave.

- Vocalists in sixth through 12 grades are invited to participate in the Peoria Area Civic Chorale's Young Artist Competition.
Auditions will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Peoria Public Library.
