Apple Computer Inc. reported a loss of $8 million for its 1Q in FY '03, but it did see improvement in its retail division. The Apple stores, which total 51 units, had sales of $148 million, up from $102 million the previous quarter. The loss on its stores declined to $1 million in the quarter from $3 million the previous year.
