Shuffling into the 21st century with Parker Bohn - News, Notes & Quotes - computer bowling game includes sound and video clips of bowler Parker Bohn III
A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE familiar with the great bowling game of yesteryear, Shuffle Alley. But there have been some changes made to the game your grandfather once knew.
Take some of the best and most loved elements of Shuffle Alley--the puck and mechanical pins--and update them with Hall-of-Famer Parker Bohn III and an awesome 27-inch flat-screen color monitor and sound system, and the game (rechristened Parker Bohn III Pro Bowler) is a likely 21st century arcade hit.
"Two generations have gone by without playing this game," Bohn says. "But kids are really enjoying it, with the animation and video. It's a classic game made modern."
Full-motion video and sound clips of Bohn complement the game action, which consists of "shuffling" a puck toward the pins. A strike earns not only a thunderous pin crash, but also a serenade from George Thorogood and the Destroyers ("Bad to the Bone").
Pro Bowler was the buzz of March's ASI convention, where it won rave reviews from RePlay magazine, and made its bowling industry debut at the BPAA convention in June.--Brett Ballantini
