Beating Tiger at his own game - golf computer game - Brief Article
Ever said of a golfer on TV, "Even I could've pulled off that shot . . . "? Now you can put your mouse where your mouth is: The Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2000 computer game from EA Sports has added a feature that allows desktop golfers to play online during PGA Tour events and against real golfers.
Roughly a minute after a pro golfer takes a shot in real life, players on PCs will be able to see where the ball lands and then can attempt to out-stroke the pro. To accomplish this feat, EA Sports will employ "trackers" to record the data live from various PGA Tour courses and immediately upload it online.
The first PGA Tour event to be featured in the "Play with the Pros" mode was the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Feb. 3-6. During the first few PGA Tour events, five golfers--including Woods and Mark O'Meara--can be followed hole-by-hole. Other pros will be added to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2000 through the year.
