Computer software news and media
How CDN tallies the scores: a number of years ago, 14 to be exact, Computer Dealer News introduced the Resellers' Choice Awards. It has been a tradition
Transcontinental IT Business Group, a division of Transcontinental Media began the data collection phase of Computer Dealer News' 14 Annual Resellers' Choice Awards with an electronic survey in May of this year.
The survey included 15 different IT product categories along with distributors.
For the first time in its history, CDN added Anti-Virus Software as a category. This marks the first time resellers voted for a software product.
The reason behind the inclusion of a software category was drawn from feedback from readers, the reseller community and the software vendors themselves.
Resellers were asked to rate up to two suppliers according to six criteria for each of the product areas they were active in. The six criteria are as follows: range, availability, pricing, quality, service and innovation.
For the distributor category, resellers were asked to rate them based on seven criteria: range, availability; pricing, delivery, policy, service and innovation. For each sub category, the resellers rated their suppliers on a scale of one to five, where one was very poor and five was excellent.
Transcontinental IT Business Group sent electronic letters to a randomly selected group of 10,000 resellers in Canada asking for their participation in the 14th annual awards. If you have any comments concerning these awards, please email the editor at pdelnibletto@itbusiness.ca.
