Dell delivers 'easy on the budget' business notebook
TORONTO -- Price-sensitive customers in need of a mobile computer can now choose the Dell Latitude D505 notebook, starting at $1,549, with Intel's new Celeron M processor and Wi-Fi capability.
This thin and light notebook, with a starting weight of a little more than five pounds, is equipped to power mobile users through daily essential productivity tasks such as e-mail, word processing and Internet surfing.
The Latitude D505 shares the same intuitive design and innovative D/Port docking solution and D/View notebook stand as other products in the Latitude D-Family portfolio.
Designed for budget-conscious education customers and small- and medium-sized businesses with a networked environment, the Latitude provides true mobility without sacrificing reliability, flexibility or performance, according to Dell.
The Latitude D505 can be configured with an Intel Celeron M processor with a choice of 14.1-in. or 15-in. XGA displays, or a Pentium M processor, with a 15-in. XGA display and Intel's PRO Wireless 2100 wireless miniPCI card (802.11b). Customers can also choose Dell's TrueMobile 1300 (802.11b/g) or TrueMobile 1400 (802.11a/b/g) wireless solutions.
Dell offers a single point of accountability for deployment services to support its latest portfolio of Latitude products, which the company says help customers save time and effort and allow them to focus IT resources on more strategic projects.
A module bay, which comes standard with a CD-ROM, provides a second hard drive and second battery options.
