Dell's new imaging and printing devices target small business market
TORONTO -- Dell (Canada) Inc. has released four new imaging and printing devices targeted at small businesses and consumers.
The Dell Personal Laser Printer 1700 and 1700n series of monochrome laser printers are available in non-networked and networked versions for $269 and $339 respectively. With print speeds of up to 25 pages-per-minute (ppm) and a 1,200 x 1,200 dots-per-inch (dpi) resolution, these printers represent Dell's first foray into the multi-function laser printer market.
Standardized networking features in the Dell MFP Laser Printer 1600n enables multiple users to share its printing, copying, scanning and faxing capabilities. With a print speed of 22 ppm, the printer comes with PaperPort Deluxe 9 document management software.
The Dell Photo All-in-One Printer 922 is the newest multi-function inkjet in the company's product line. Priced at $149, it is targeted at home office customers and consumers, allowing them to scan, copy, and print, while conserving desk space. This inkjet can also be used to create borderless pictures, and can print in six colors when the optional Dell photo ink cartridge is added.
Customers purchasing Dell inkjets can now choose between high- and standard-capacity ink cartridges. Dell has included the Dell Ink or Toner Management Systems in all personal printers. The systems monitor ink or toner levels and prompt users to order replacement cartridges.
Complete-a-Print and Reserve Tank are two new features available in new Dell inkjet printers to ensure printers do not run out of ink during a print job. If one ink tank empties during a print job, Complete-a-Print uses ink from the remaining tank. Reserve Tank Mode alerts users that cartridges are critically low on ink and suggests they replenish their supply as soon as possible.
