Gateway's New Notebook Uses Desktop P4
Gateway on Monday introduced the Gateway 400 notebook computer, which includes a desktop Pentium 4 processor to reduce costs.
The notebook PC features a 2.0-GHz desktop Pentium 4 processor, which can save Gateway cost but at the expense of battery life and additional weight. Prices for the new notebook start at $1,399 after $100 mail-in rebate; the existing Gateway 600L, which uses a mobile Pentium 4 processor, is priced at $1,899 and up.
