AMD (NYSE:AMD) has introduced three new high performance processors: the AMD Athlon XP processor 2100+ for desktop PCs, the AMD Athlon MP processor 2000+ for servers and workstations, and the mobile AMD Athlon 4 processor 1600+ for notebook PCs.

As the world's highest performing desktop PC processor, the AMD Athlon XP processor 2100+ features QuantiSpeed architecture, which enhances the performance of software applications such as photo editing, visual computing and 3D gaming. The AMD Athlon MP processor 2000+, featuring Smart MP technology, offers a reliable, scalable performance solution for the server and workstation market. The mobile AMD Athlon 4 processor 1600+ incorporates the industry's most sophisticated power management solution, AMD PowerNow! technology, which is designed to optimize battery life and delivers exceptional performance.

Desktop PCs based on the AMD Athlon XP processor 2100+ are expected to be immediately available from leading computer manufacturers worldwide, including Compaq Computer Corporation, Fujitsu-Siemens Computers, and NEC-CI.

Availability of the new AMD Athlon MP processor 2000+ for servers and workstations is planned immediately from manufacturers worldwide, including RackSaver and BOXX Technologies, among others.

Compaq also plans to have notebook PCs powered by the mobile AMD Athlon 4 processor 1600+ available soon on a configure-to-order basis, with retail availability to follow.

The AMD Athlon XP processor 2100+ is priced at $420, the AMD Athlon MP processor 2000+ is priced at $415, and the mobile AMD Athlon 4 processor 1600+ is priced at $380, all in 1,000-unit quantities.
