MARKHAM, Ont. -- Toshiba of Canada Ltd. has introduced a notebook computer which uses a 25-MHz, 486 DX processor and comes with a 200-MB hard drive.
The T4400C has a super VGA display which can display 256 colors simultaneously. Users can chose from a palette of 185,193 colors suited for color-intensive and graphic applications.
There is also a port for an external VGA monitor. Other features include four MB of RAM expandable to 20 MB via a dedicated memory slot, a modem slot, and a 150-pin expansion bus connector for Desk Station IV docking station and other peripherals.
The T4400C is powered by a nickel cadmium battery which offers 2.5 hours of power and can be recharged in 1.5 hours. The unit weighs 7.7 pounds including the battery pack. Suggested retail price for the T4400C is $6,999.
