Toshiba Portege notebook runs at 1.1 GHz
MARKHAM, ONT. -- Toshiba of Canada Information Systems Group (Toshiba ISG) has introduced a faster version of the Portege R100, Toshiba's thinnest notebook computer measuring 14.9-mm thick and weighing 2.4 lbs. A new series of Tecra notebook computers geared to corporate users was also launched.
Portege R100-213M5 features Intel Centrino Mobile Technology with a Mobile Intel Pentium M voltage processor at 1.1 GHz with Enhanced SpeedStep technology , a 12.1-in. Poly Silicon TFT monitor, a 40GB hard disk drive and 802.11g wireless connectivity. This system comes with a bundled battery and includes built-in speakers.
The R100-213M5 carries a suggested list price of $2,799.
The Tecra S1 units feature are 6.6 lbs. and come equipped with Intel Centrino Mobile Technology--Pentium M Processor, 855 Chipset, Intel PRO 802.11g wireless connectivity, ATI Graphics Controller with 32MB DDR Video Memory, 512MB of RAM, Integrated V.92 56KData/Fax modem and a 15-in. XGA active-matrix colour LCD display.
The Tecra S1 PT831C-67CTN, 67CU2 and 67CU3 models feature a 60GB hard disk drive. The Tecra S1 PT831C-67CTP offers a 40GB hard disk drive with a Mobile Intel Pentium M Processor 725 at 1.6 GHz .
The Tecra S1 PT831C-67CTN, 67CU2, 67CU3 and 67CTP models carry a SLP of $3,199, $2,599, $2,799, and $2,399, respectively.
Like the other S1 series notebooks, it comes with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 GPU with 32MB DDR memory and its memory is expandable to 2GB.
The S1 notebook batteries have a life of 3.6 hours, the company said.
Weighing less than 6 lbs., Tecra A2-0NJ01E features an Intel Centrino Mobile Technology--Pentium M Processor at 1.6GHz, 40GB hard disk drive, 855 Chipset, Intel PRO wireless network connection (802.11g), 512MB of RAM and an integrated V.92 56KData/Fax modem--all housed with a 15-in. XGA active-matrix colour LCD display. It's two-spindle configuration is designed to reduces size and weight, according to the company.
It carries a SLP of $2,199.
