Just in time to help "inflate" your sales, JM&A Group introduces Road Hazard Tire Coverage. This new JM&A product offers a low-cost incentive that dealers can market to all their customers, but especially for dealer sales promotions and lease customers.

Road hazard tire coverage was created as a stand-alone product to offer to customers who don't buy a mechanical breakdown service contract, and offers repair or replacement of tires for three years with unlimited miles (2/32nd inch tread depth limit). The coverage also is transferable if the customer sells the vehicle.

"For customers that are not interested in a mechanical breakdown service contract, this becomes another product the dealer has to offer them," says Dave Darnell, JM&A's director of product development. "It's a low-cost product with high customer value."

Not only is it a valuable add-on to customers who are trying to keep their payments down, it's also attractive to lease customers who traditionally don't buy mechanical breakdown service contracts as often as purchase customers.

With the dealer price of the coverage at $50 for standard coverage and $60 for deluxe, it's a perfect marketing incentive to move aging inventory.

Here's how the JM&A road hazard tire coverage stands out from the competition:

* Two levels of coverage, standard and deluxe, and pricing to accommodate standard vehicles and luxury lines. The customer has choices.

* Available for new and used vehicles, including 4X4's, which many programs exclude.

* Zero deductible. Your customer has no out-of-pocket expense for a covered repair or replacement.

* Optional towing and roadside assistance reimbursement.

* No prorated claims. The coverage covers full repair or replacement cost, regardless of the amount of time or tread left on the coverage.

"It's an excellent opportunity for sales events," Darnell says. "For example, let's say that this month, you want to try to move a specific model. You can offer three years' complimentary road hazard coverage with every vehicle purchased during this special event."

Suggested retail pricing for the standard coverage is $99 in Florida, $150 in all other states - well below the cost of a set of quality tires. The deluxe coverage retails for $160. The optional towing and roadside assistance coverage retails for $25.

In addition to helping increase incremental sales, Darnell notes, the coverage also creates additional service opportunities at the time of a claim.

"Instead of customers going down to their local discount tire center for a tire replacement or repair, they're coming back to the dealer," he says, "providing additional opportunities for service and customer retention."
