Air France has come under fire from a small group of shareholders who have lodged a lawsuit against the carrier, claiming that it has been running an illicit discount ticket scheme for politicians.
Jean-Paul Baduel, an attorney representing the group, said that a complaint had been lodged with judicial authorities in Paris regarding suspected misappropriation of company funds and the receipt of stolen goods. It was indicated that the action was designed to prompt a preliminary inquiry into the allegations, according to Reuters.
Baduel stated on 10 July: 'We are demanding a complete investigation into all the tickets that various personalities benefited from with Air France for 10 years.'
Air France has not commented on the action.
