Retail store The Gadget Shop has begun trialling mobile barcode coupons offering visitors to its retail locations in London, UK the chance to obtain a 10% discount on its products.
The mobile barcode coupon was sent to shoppers on Oxford Street in London via SMS message. This enabled the mobile user to purchase a product from three Gadget Shop locations - Oxford Street, Covent Garden and The Trocadero - at a price that is 10% less than the advertised one.
The campaign has been made possible through technology from m-bar-go, a mobile loyalty and couponing solutions provider.
No financial terms were revealed.
