Spring brings out car rental deals for one-way travel. Firms need to reposition cars to match seasonal travel patterns, so they offer discount specials with unlimited mileage and no drop-off fees.

Florida deals are particularly nice, allowing travelers to fly to Florida on a one-way ticket, enjoy the sun and drive home.

From April 1 through June 30, Avis offers low one-way rates for some Florida and Arizona customers. The daily rate is as low as $12.99 for a compact, $19.99 for a full-size car.

Florida customers can drive to locations in more than two dozen states.

One-way renters in Arizona can pick up vehicles in Phoenix and Tucson and return them to any California, Las Vegas or Reno location. Rates range from $19.99 to $39.99. The rate codes for each special are listed in the Deal section of www.avis.com. The rental period is limited, cars are subject to availability, and reservations are required.

Hertz's Florida drive program has daily one-way rates starting at $12.99 for rentals picked up at all Hertz locations in Florida from March 31 through May 15.
