Online x rated dvd rental
Disks for rent
Owners of DVD video players who balk at paying $20 to $30 apiece to buy disks are finding it easier to rent them. A new online service--NetFlix at www.netflix.com--stocks virtually all 900-plus DVD titles (except X-rated films) from The Wizard of Oz to L.A. Confidential and rents them for $4 a week, plus $2 for mailing to and from your home. Video giant Blockbuster, meanwhile, expects to expand DVD rentals from 105 stores to some 1,000 by midsummer. And more and more independent shops are renting DVDs. A list of 659 rental sites is online www.gamesetc.org/dvd.
Another option will come in some areas this summer when rental Divx disks--a new DVD format--arrives. But current DVD players can't play the new Divx disks.
