Wal mart online dvd rental
Wal-Mart to add DVD rental services - Market Watch - Brief Article
BENTONVILLE, ARK. -- Wal-Mart has started testing a mail-order DVD rental service through its Web site, walmart.com. For a monthly fee of $18.86, subscribers can peruse more than 12,000 titles and rent an unlimited amount of DVDs for one month. Subscribers can keep the DVDs as long as they like without any late fees and all shipping charges are included in the monthly fees. As an incentive, Wal-Mart is offering subscribers a 30-day free trial of the service. As part of the test, the service initially will be available to a limited number of customers in the domestic United States. Wal-Mart's entry into mail-order DVD rentals puts it in competition with a number of Web sites, including the first such site, and the most successful, Netflix. In addition to its stand-alone site, the 5-year-old Netflix has a partnership with Best Buy, where online customers can directly link to the DVD rental site through bestbuy.com.
